Building Brokerages & Community: The Steady Leadership of Edward Hazners

Few in real estate can say they’ve shaped brokerages across multiple states, mentored hundreds of agents, and still found time to perfect the art of Latvian stuffed cabbage. But for Edward Hazners, real estate has always been about building — from subdivisions to relationships to culture.

Since 1990, Edward has been immersed in the industry. Starting as an agent with Prudential Real Estate, he earned his broker’s license just four years later and launched his own firm, Western Reserve Real Estate. From there, his career took off with a focus on land development, helping builders like Ryan Homes bring entire communities to life.

The Open-Door Broker

At eXp Realty and Real Broker, Edward played pivotal leadership roles in Ohio and Kentucky, helping each firm grow their agent rosters by hundreds. But what truly set him apart wasn’t just the numbers — it was his open-door policy. “I’m a good listener,” Edward says. “Agents know they can call me anytime. I understand what they’re going through because I’ve been in their shoes.”

His humility and accessibility earned him trust far and wide. “I don’t care about titles,” he adds. “I just want to help agents succeed.”

Why ENRG? The Culture Speaks for Itself

When Edward learned Peter and Erinn Nobel were launching ENRG Realty, the decision to join was almost a foregone conclusion. “They’ve created an incredible culture everywhere they’ve been,” he explains. “When they left other brokerages, that culture left with them.”

For Edward, the opportunity to help shape ENRG’s future — grounded in respect, inclusion, and collaboration — was too good to pass up. “Here, brokers’ and agents' voices matter. There’s no ego, no drama. Just people who care about doing things the right way.”

“List and Sell”: The Timeless Truth

Ask Edward about success in real estate and he’ll give you the same advice his first broker ever gave him: “List and sell.” While others get caught up chasing buyers or rev-share schemes, Edward knows the foundation of a lasting business is built on listings and relationships.

ENRG’s model, he believes, is the ideal blend: An emphasis on culture, access to modern tools, without the aggressive recruiting tactics he experienced at past companies. “Organic growth, not pressure — that’s what makes this sustainable.”

A Slice of Latvia — and Lasagna

When Edward’s not helping agents build their business or opening new ENRG markets (he's currently leading launches in Kentucky and Tennessee), you’ll find him in the kitchen. A proud Latvian, Edward loves cooking traditional dishes like stuffed cabbage and cheese from scratch. Sunday family dinners are a sacred tradition, even if his adult kids sometimes need a little bribing — usually in the form of homemade meatloaf or lasagna.

He’s also a baseball fan, avid traveler, and landscaping enthusiast, often scouting land just for the fun of imagining what it could become.

Looking Ahead

With over three decades of experience, Edward’s not slowing down — if anything, he’s more energized than ever. At ENRG, he’s not just managing growth, he’s helping shape a brokerage that values trust, production, and people.

“Change isn’t scary when you believe in what you’re building,” he says. “And I believe ENRG is building something real — with the right people, the right vision, and the right heart.”
